This confirms that I hold a current Statement of Professional Standing – which is my annual licence to practice – and that I have been awarded their Later Life Advice specialism.
My Personal Finance Skills
This is the Personal Finance Society’s initiative to increase financial literacy in young people through delivering in-school sessions on a wide range of topics, and I support this as one of their Education Champions and as the Regional Educational Outreach Ambassador for Kent.
The FCA Register
Giving financial advice is what is termed a ‘regulated activity’ and only those who are properly qualified may do this. The government regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority, keeps a register of all firms and individuals who have been approved.
My firm is authorised under reference 491847 and I have an individual registration number of CPB00001.
Young Enterprise
This is an education charity where I volunteer my time and expertise in local schools over an entire school year, supporting young people and helping them acquire skills that will better equip them for the world of work.
ACFA – The Association of Christian Financial Advisers
I currently act as Treasurer for this organisation that aims to bring together Christians working in the financial advice profession.
Age UK – Bexley
I volunteer as a member of the Board of Trustees and as Hon. Treasurer for this local charity which focusses on the needs of the older residents in the borough and which offers information and advice on a wide range of issues as well as running pop-in parlours, a handyman service, wheelchair hire, and nail clipping.
